Since 1992, VTBcompany has been a partner of Sony in Vietnam market. As recognizing that the foreign investment in Vietnam was increasing and becoming more and more exciting, the gap between the technology, technique, equipment and management between Vietnam enterprises and foreign enterprises is so big

 - To shorten gap and increase the development speed, VTB recognized that it has no other way but obtained joint venture with the famous electronics production corporation.
 - Drawing experience from unsuccessful joint ventures, from the first day, VTB actively obtained joint venture by capital in cash and rented its workshop and equipment. At the first days, VTB determined the specific purposes of the joint venture that are:

* Preserve and develop the capital
* Learn and advanced management methods of the partners.
* Learn the advanced technology of the technique technology from the partners.
* Train the technical staff, managing staff for the next development stages of the company.

- After many years of negotiation, by the end of 1994, Sony Vietnam Joint venture was officially established with more than 200 staff of VTB became key staff for the joint venture.
- With 02 years of getting experience from Sony Vietnam with the same methods and targets, in 1996, VTB made joint venture with JVC Japan to establish joint venture JVC Vietnam and transferred more than 150 staff to work at this joint venture.
